A very popular game in Philippines, billiards is enjoyed by both men and women of all ages.  Billiards, also known as pocket billiards is the family of cue sports and games played on a pool table having six receptacles called pockets along the rails, into which balls are deposited as the main goal of play.

He is by far the most famous billiards player in the world.  A 2-time world champion, Reyes is considered to be one of the all-time greatest players in the games of 9 balls. As a player in professional pool, Reyes has been known to have won a number of money-rich tournaments worldwide. This makes him one of the most profitable players around the world.

His fame bagan when he won the US Open Nine Ball Championship in 1994 by defeating Nick Varner in the finals. He was the first non-American to win the event. He has topped the AZ Billiards Money List five times: in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.  In 2006, he set a record by earning $646K in a single year.  Numerous fellow professional players have credited Reyes with being the greatest living player in the world.  He was called the “magician” because of his extraordinary shots in billiards.  Before starting his career, Efren used to work as a billiards attendant at his uncle’s billiards hall, where he started learning the various cue sports.
